Hello, again!

Well, I didn't actually fall off the face of the earth, but it has kind of felt that way. I didn't mean to take a long break from blogging, but there have been some things happening here that just made me feel like not blogging. I'm not going to go into to details right now, but I will write about it eventually. I hope you will hang in there with me anyway, and I've got more posts coming up in the near future.

This is not the most inspiring outfit and I have no idea why the only shot I took of it is of me with my mouth open, but bear with me please. That's kind of how I've been feeling of late.

I had a sweater that I liked the style for the most part, but it was really long. Seriously could've been a mini dress (I have never been a mini dress kind of girl, lol). And for some reason it kind looked like maternity. So, I tucked it into a basic a-line skirt, and I still feel meh about it. I don't like tucking in thick sweaters either, because they can make your waist, and in this case your hips (it's so long!), look bulkier than it really is, and can make your waistband a little tight. The sweater was a gift, but may not get much wear in the long run and may even end up in the giveaway box.

I also did a winged liner on my upper eyelids. I don't often do this for a couple of reasons. My eyes are really sensitive to most eye makeup (it makes my eyes water, burn, and itch) and I don't always have  the time to do it before we leave for somewhere. I am not able or willing to put on eyeliner while driving.  So, I thought I would take a picture and get your opinion of it. I'm not the best at doing it, so be merciful in your assessment. I think since I'm not used to seeing myself this way, I don't feel very confident of the look on me though.

Without glasses.
I don't know. I've been in a kind of blah mood about things since Christmas, and that may have been partly because I've not felt the greatest either.

What do you think about winged liner? What do you do to pick yourself up when you're feeling a little blah about things?

  1. A very warm hello to you as well, darling gal! Don't worry about it for a moment. We've had a million and a half things going on here lately between the holiday season, our dog needing surgery (all is well, no worries), me coming down with a nasty cold, and myriad other random happenings. I think that the end of the year-start of the next can often be one of the busiest times of the year. I'm looking forward to the more predictable, somewhat calmer flow that usually comes with January and February. It's a great time to focus on all kinds of things, from organizing projects to writing blogs posts, that got put off to the side during Christmas.

Love the winged liner! It's an almost daily staple for me, so there's no way I wouldn't adore it on as well, beautiful gal!

  2. We always have a degree of craziness going on around here, but lately has been insane even for us. I'm actually looking forward to and dreading the coming year all at the same time. Next week we start our homeschool back, so hopefully all will be a little more normal. I've not felt weeks and I've been anxious about things I have no control over. I know a lot of it's probably foolish, but Lord willing we'll get through it alright.
Your comments are always so uplifting. You have no idea how encouraging you must be to so many. Glad things are going well for you all and hopefully your dog will have a speedy recovery.
Calmness will definitely be most welcome here, lol.

  3. The winged liner is a winner!

I, too, have sensitivities to eye makeup. My solution is to use it for special occasions and then remove it when I get home. I like to use LidCare towelettes, but they aren't available everywhere. They hadn't heard of them at a Walmart in Surprise, Arizona. They were recommended to me by a doctor and I've used them ever since--about 20 years now.

  4. Thank you. My husband liked it, too. I guess I'm just not used to seeing myself like that, lol.
I usually wear at least mascara to church, but that's it. Even then my eyes are often watery and itchy on the drive home.
The Red Apple Lipstick company is supposed to be coming out with gluten free organic mascara and liner soon, so I'm really excited about that. I am in love with their lipsticks and am hoping this will mean I can wear eye makeup whenever and for as long as I want.
I just got some new Ology makeup wipes to try the other day, but will keep an eye out for LidCare towlettes. It would be handy to have something to keep in my purse until I find an eye makeup that doesn't irritate my eyes.

  5. I have had to leave off wearing eye makeup lately as I also have flare-ups of sensitivity with itching and irritation. I hate to because I wear glasses and feel like my eyes look so small without some eyeliner and mascara but I know if I don't give it a rest it will just get worse.

  6. I totally feel your pain. I love the fact that with glasses you can go a little more dramatic with eye makeup, but HATE that they often don't love me back. The best I've found for not irritating me has been Almay, but even with those I have to make sure I wash my eyes off really well.
It can also be worse if your eye makeup gets old. Old makeup can grow bacteria and even cause eye infections, so frequently replacing it helps, too.
